Ezy-Guard LDS is a MASH TL4 low deflection Thrie beam barrier that uses a Z post and LDS carriage to minimise deflection. It is suited to constrained roadsides, steep batters and locations where there is limited room between the traffic lane and the hazard.
Under MASH TL3 and MASH TL4 testing, Ezy-Guard LDS achieves a dynamic deflection of 1.1 metres. This reduced movement makes it suitable where clearance to hazards, batter edges or structures is tight.
Yes. Ezy-Guard LDS installs the same way as the other Ezy-Guard systems. The Z post is driven directly into the ground using standard guardrail installation equipment. The system relies on the post yielding by bending near ground level, with not on soil rotation, so the installation method remains the same whether you’re using Ezy-Guard 4, HD or HC.
Yes. Ezy-Guard LDS has been crash tested to MASH TL3 with posts installed at the rounding point of a 1H:1V batter in standard soil with the extended post and soil plate. Designers still need to check ground conditions and erosion risk and treat this as Extended Design Domain where required by the road authority.
